Understand the assignment requirements:
There are really two different goals in this assignment. The predominant goal is for you to demonstrate your knowledge of Fusion 360. Ideally by the end of this week, you could hypothetically know how to make most objects in Fusion by knowing how to ask the right questions. The other goal to show basic knowledge of how our SLA Printer works. You will not be trained on this machine due to safety reasons (we have no sink and novice users tend to get resin on them which is toxic and often causes rashes and skin irritation). Instead, you will drop your stl. into the folder in the button above BY SATURDAY @ Midnight and we will print them. You can pick them up on Monday during our open hours.
To design the ring, you can choose from these tutorials. They are each complex in their own way and should be a real challenge for you. However, if you would like to search for Fusion 360 tutorial yourself (must be an object that is as small as a ring), you can email it to me BY WEDNESDAY at midnight and I will consider it. If it's not as challenging as these, I won't approve it.
Design the ring and upload it BY SATURDAY @ Midnight. The link is in the button at the top of this page. Your will need to document the following:
Research our printer specifically and SLA printing as a process in general. Check out the assessment guide to see what I will be looking for in terms of documentation. The video below features Jacob Loberti 20' using our old Form 2's. He actually did an internship with them in Sommerville where they are based.
